March 1st, 2019

SXSW Panel Features Center for Creative Leadership, Peppercomm, OneLogin, and Next Concept HR Association

San Francisco, Calif., March 1, 2019 – Today OneLogin, the industry leader in Unified Access Management, announced Courtney Harrison, OneLogin Chief Human Resource Officer, will be participating on a panel happening at SXSW spotlighting solutions to the epidemic of sexual harassment in the workplace: “Rx for Sexual Harassment: Asking Leaders to Listen.” Courtney will be joined by Kris Downing, VP, Center for Creative Leadership, Greg Morton, CEO, Next Concept HR Association, and Ann Barlow, West Coast President and Partner at Peppercomm. More information can be found on the SXSW event schedule. To participate in the conversation online, Tweet your questions and comments using the hashtag #timeisup with #sxsw19 and #sxsw.

“Sexual harassment in the workplace is deeply systemic. For decades it was system to be ‘worked within’ or ‘worked around,’ not a system to be disrupted,” said Courtney Harrison, OneLogin Chief Human Resource Officer. “The more we keep the conversation going and shine the spotlight on poor leaders and poorly run companies, the better chance we have for more rapid change. Together we can start making meaningful strides forward through being as vocal and intolerant as we can possibly be.”

In this panel discussion, HR and technology leaders discuss a 4-step remedy:

  1. Creating an open network for authentic 2-way dialogue, so that people can safely share their views
  2. Offering better education across the board
  3. Convincing leadership to own the issue
  4. Creating a culture of mutual respect, trust, and transparency, in which there is zero tolerance for harassment

“Despite the recent rise in high-profile cases of sexual harassment, the issue is far from being resolved,” said Greg Morton, Panel Moderator and CEO of NCHRA. “Penalties and mandated trainings have had little effect. Ingrained behaviors in many company cultures have prohibited women from getting into positions of leadership, and created an environment that many find intolerable. There needs to be a seismic shift in the way that sexual harassment is handled.”

“Rx for Sexual Harassment: Asking Leaders to Listen,” is happening March 9th at the JW Marriot Room 203-204 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM.

The panelists will be answering questions from Twitter. To pose a question, please be sure to #timeisup with #sxsw19 and #sxsw.
