As COVID-19 continues to spread and stay-at-home orders have become the new norm, organizations have been working out the most secure way for employees to access applications while working from home. Video conferencing apps like Zoom are in high demand and being able to roll out these applications quickly and securely is at the top of our customers’ priority lists.
Implementing a new application can be a time consuming process. Not only are there configuration steps that need to be followed, but there are also user provisioning and authentication issues that need to be addressed. An Identity Management Access (IAM) solution like OneLogin can be invaluable to solving these issues. OneLogin’s real-time user provisioning automates and streamlines this process for a range of applications, including Zoom, GoToMeeting, O365, ServiceNow, WebEx, Box, Dropbox, EchoSign, Google Apps, RemedyForce, and Zendesk.
When the stay-at-home order was issued in California, our MSP Partner, Feedwire, utilized OneLogin for one of their customers to quickly roll out Zoom video conferencing for 200 new users. The customer already had OneLogin connected to their Active Directory environment thus users could log into OneLogin using their Active Directory credentials. So in order to roll out Zoom, it was a simple matter to leverage OneLogin’s provisioning capabilities to streamline the Zoom implementation. This saved Feedwire hours of manual work and enabled them to give their customers access to a new essential application in a secure and efficient way. In a matter of minutes users could log into Zoom using their Active Directory credentials. In a rapidly changing world, it is crucial that we can meet the needs of our customers just as quickly.
Damien Clark CEO and Owner of Feedwire told us, “Making a quick shift in our customers’ business was essential after the effect of COVID-19 started to take place worldwide. OneLogin provisioning has been crucial to help roll out new applications to our customers who are now working from home. We were able to deploy Zoom in 30 minutes to 150 users with OneLogin custom mapping and provisioning tool.”
This wasn’t the only win with OneLogin that Feedwire had during this transition. They had another client that needed access to files on a server that was located in the now empty office. The customer was already using OneLogin as their cloud directory so accessing their applications from home wasn’t an issue; the challenge was in getting access to those files without a VPN in place. Feedwire rolled out Sonicwall to provide access to that internal network where the files were held and configured the new VPN to use OneLogin’s RADIUS endpoint to provide user authentication. Again they saved hours of work taking advantage of OneLogin’s cloud directory to quickly give users access to their new VPN and thus access to those files in the office from their homes.
Whether it is quickly giving users access to new applications or connecting them to on premise resources via VPN, Remote Desktop Gateway or OneLogin Access, OneLogin and Feedwire can provide solutions to make that transition secure and easy. As the world is learning how to cope with COVID-19 and the changes that it brings to the workforce, we are here to support our customers and partners in the best possible way.
