Q1 ‘20 Release: Unified access, enhanced authentication, and developer APIs

March 19th, 2020   |     |  product and technology, security & compliance

Now more than ever, it is critical to secure and enable easy application access for all your employees across the globe, whether working remote or in the office. That’s why we remain committed to providing solutions that keep business operations going during a crisis.

The Q1 ‘20 Release delivers new features and functionality that will help streamline access to applications across your organization and strengthen authentication to protect your organization from an influx of cyber attacks. These new features and functionalities span three categories:

  1. Unified access
  2. Security
  3. Developer tools

What are we announcing?

More ways to connect access

  • RADIUS VSA: Ability to return customer-specified RADIUS attributes and vendor-specific attributes (VSA) with the RADIUS Access-Accept. Allows for interoperability and further authorization based on attributes like user groups and roles.

How RADIUS VSA works

  • New Remedy Connector: Provides end-to-end user lifecycle management by mapping user entry forms directly to a provisioner in OneLogin.

Security, everywhere

  • Shared Workstation for Desktop Pro: In addition to Windows, support multiple users for one Mac machine to eliminate password sharing.

  • Password expiration notices for Desktop Pro: In addition to Mac, enable password expiration notices for Windows machines to support self-service password reset and cut down on helpdesk tickets.

Greater control over user sessions & password resets

  • MFA Configuration for Password Reset: Ability to select specific multi-factor authentication (MFA) factors for end-user password resets.

Password Update screen with OTP factors available to reset password

  • Session Timeouts Enforcement: Configure user sessions to expire based on both Fixed Time and Inactivity.

New developer APIs

  • App API: Ability to create apps via API.

  • API Authorization: Allow the generation of Access Tokens so that they can be used to authorize requests against an API or API Gateway.

*Email MFA, Voice MFA, Smart Access, and Compromised Credentials Check are now generally available. Check out the previous release for more information.

Early Preview Programs
In addition to our newly announced features, we also have early preview programs for customers to enroll in.

  • RDG Server & RDWeb MFA: Simply and reliably add multi-factor authentication when using RDP to access Windows servers and desktops in local or remote data centers or private clouds (i.e. AWS and Microsoft Azure). Please register to participate in the RDG Server & RDWeb early preview.

  • RADIUS VSA: Support for using customer-specified RADIUS attributes and vendor-specific attributes (VSA) for network device authorization. Please register to participate in the RADIUS VSA early preview.
