Promoting Diversity at OneLogin’s Bug Bounty Bash at Black Hat 2018

August 3rd, 2018   |     |  company news, security & compliance

As a Security-First company, our #1 priority has always been to ensure that data is handled securely and responsibly. That said, we wouldn’t be the organization we are today if it weren’t for the opportunities we’ve had to collaborate with our many partners in this constantly evolving space.

Next week, we’re hosting our first ever Bug Bounty Bash at Black Hat USA 2018 in Las Vegas. But that’s not all. Proceeds from the event will be donated to promoting diversity in cybersecurity!

What’s happening?

On August 7, we will be hosting a select group of ethical hackers from all over the world for this very special event in Las Vegas.

Their Mission: To comb through OneLogin’s platform and to hunt down any security flaws they can find. Each valid vulnerability that the team uncovers will be rewarded with a bounty - their prize for helping us make OneLogin better.

Promoting diversity and inclusion

Part of the OneLogin DNA is to take the time to give back to our communities. And that’s precisely what makes this event especially exciting for us.

Our hacker participants have agreed to donate 50 percent or more of their winnings to organizations like the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) and Queercon - non-profit partners dedicated to promoting diversity in the infosec space!

“It’s exciting to take part in OneLogin’s Bug Bounty Bash supporting diversity in cybersecurity,” said Aric K. Perminter, President of ICMCP.

Jason Painter, President of Queercon, added, “On behalf of Queercon, I want to thank everyone for participating in OneLogin’s Bug Bounty Bash and supporting diversity in the InfoSec community.”

The grand finale

Tens of thousands of dollars in donations will be handed over at the Queercon closing ceremonies. Come by the QC Lounge on Sunday, August 12 at 2 PM to witness this “big check” moment, get a peek behind the scenes at what makes Queercon possible, and get details around what to expect from Queercon next year. Register for Queercon here.

We hope you’ll join us for this momentous occasion. Can’t make it? No problem! Check back here for a round-up from the event.

Thank you

I want to extend a very special thank you to our white hat dream team who will be participating in this Bug Bounty Bash. We could not be more excited to be working with you all to improve upon the OneLogin service while also promoting diversity and inclusion within the infosec space.

If you’re attending, come visit us at Black Hat booth 1625! We’d love to chat with you about the latest and greatest in Unified Access Management.

Be sure to keep an eye on the @OneLogin twitter account for live updates from Black Hat and DEF CON. And check on our blog soon for our complete event recap, including photos, stand-out moments, and details about how much money was raised!

Be safe and have fun at Black Hat!
