During these unprecedented times, the love for our OneLogin community has grown immensely and we all have become even more supportive of one another. Amidst all this, we continue to embrace all our values as One.
Each month, OneLoginers nominate a peer, mentor, or manager for our monthly MVP awards. Our MVP award is given to the employee(s) who has received the most nominations from their peers on embracing our OneLogin values through their work. The MVP award is given to the employee(s) who is constantly stepping above and beyond while embodying one or more of our values! We encourage all of our employees to continue nominating their peers for the MVP awards. We love seeing the continued support and participation in the OneLogin community.
Last month, we awarded two amazing employees - James Liu, Sales Manager, and Luis Velasco, Sr. Software Engineer.
I am pleased to announce the recipient of our May MVP Award - Karan Ratanpal, Sr. Escalations Manager! Thank you for embracing our OneLogin values. Our colleagues had some amazing things to say about Karan:
“Karan is a literal bridge between customers and Karan is a literal bridge between customers and engineering. Without his hard work, perseverance, & resilience our customers and internal departments would be lost. No JOKE this man needs a parade in his honor.”
“Karan always puts our customers first and engages with Product and Engineering teams to solve some of our customers’ toughest problems. He’s up all hours of the day and night working to ensure the best possible experience for some of our most important customers.”
“There is nothing that Karan does not know about! However, he never refuses to share his knowledge with you. [He] leads you in the right direction accurately and finds the root of a problem you have been researching for hours in seconds. He just knows his OneLogin deeply! It is always a joy to work with him and steal a bit of his OneLogin wisdom every day. Thank you Karan for being our MVP!”
We love seeing all the OneLoginer love! Curious about his day-to-day or what he does in his free time? Read below to find out!
1. What does a typical day at OneLogin look like for you?
The part that I love the most about my role is that there is no typical day! It usually starts off with bringing my exploding Slack app under control. This brings about a few escalations that I need to then juggle. I do dedicate a part of my day to triaging and prioritizing defects with Product and Engineering teams. The rest of the day involves guiding the team and helping them out with their issues. And before I know it, an eventful day has passed!
2. What does being awarded OneLogin’s MVP of the Month award mean to you?
I am extremely honored and getting this award from my peers makes it even more special. My role involves interacting with cross-functional teams and I am grateful for everyone who helps me tackle everyday work issues.
3. What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I really enjoy cooking gourmet meals and mixing craft cocktails. Making long, labor-intensive recipes satisfies me the most. Besides that, I love hiking, yoga, and drone photography.
4. If you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?
I love to travel and live a fast-paced life. An ideal place for me has to have a mix of a beach, hiking trails, old-world charm, and of course great cuisine. It’s hard for me to choose a single place but if given just one choice, I would pick San Sebastián, Spain.
