Internet radio company Pandora explains how it found a strategy to embrace shadow IT and still secure cloud app usage within the company. “To help secure the cloud apps once they are approved, Meier said Pandora uses OneLogin for a single sign-on and identity management system that allows the company to automate its cloud security and quickly provision and deprovision cloud apps.

‘If you want to do enterprise security and enterprise cloud architecture well, you’ve got to have some type of reliable identity management system or authentication portal,” he said. “It’s really hard to scale and secure things and management the environment without something like that.’”

Lonely Planet Puts Infrastructure on Cloud to Focus on Core Business

“Loney Planet, a travel guide publisher, Online platform manager Darragh Kennedy recently told the Cloud World Forum that the Australian Lonely Planet team, is processing HR and payroll ‘through NetSuite’s Infinetcloud solutions and the Australian recruitment software Subscribe HR. The travel guide uses a product called OneLogin to integrate both tools so that employees only need one password to log in to one account through a browser and the two separate processes appear seamless.’

According to Kennedy, ‘We didn’t want users setting up multiple accounts or using multiple passwords, we wanted it to be really easy for users, and very simplistic.’”
