OneLogin Recognized as a Leader in Cloud User and Access Management by KuppingerCole
Rated First for Product Innovation Among Cloud First Identity and Access Management Vendors
San Francisco, CA – Sept. 11, 2014 – OneLogin, the innovator in identity management, today announced it has been rated first for innovation among Cloud First identity and access management (IAM) vendors in KuppingerCole’s July 2014 Leadership Compass Report on Cloud User and Access Management. OneLogin was also ranked among the product, market and overall leaders included in the report.
For companies that need to secure access to the cloud, OneLogin seamlessly connects directory infrastructure to thousands of cloud applications using Active Directory, LDAP, Google Apps, Workday, or OneLogin as the directory in the cloud. The solution has been certified to work with Microsoft Office 365, and the company was recently recognized by CRN as a 2014 Emerging Vendor.
Founded in 2004, KuppingerCole is a leading Europe-based analyst company for identity focused information security for both on-premises and cloud environments. The 2014 report on Cloud User and Access Management ranked 10 vendors for their ability to manage the access of employees, business partners, and customers to cloud services and on-premises web applications.
According to the report, Cloud User and Access Management solutions benefit businesses by enabling customers to allow controlled access by internal users to cloud and partner applications, rapidly and easily on-board and off-board business partners and customers, and manage access to cloud services and on-premises web applications. The report notes that Innovation Leaders “provide several of the most innovative and upcoming features we hope to see in the particular market segment,” and that “being innovative is an important factor for trust in vendors, because innovative vendors are more likely to remain leading-edge.”
“OneLogin has a strong customer base in the United States, which has been the fastest market to adopt cloud-based services,” said Thomas Pedersen, co-founder and CEO for OneLogin. “We see Europe as the next battleground and have already made significant investments to support this market by offering EU data residency, European language support as well as integration with European authentication solutions, such as Swivel Secure, which underscores our leadership position in KuppingerCole’s report.”
“OneLogin supports a large number of preconfigured Cloud services that can be easily connected,” reports KuppingerCole. “They provide SAML integration toolkits to SaaS providers. Additionally, they are above average when it comes to provisioning user accounts into these services and de-provisioning them again. The service also provides good integration back to on-premise [sic] user directories.” The report also states that “OneLogin is continuously expanding its capabilities” and provides “an overall interesting offering with good integration to existing directory services, user provisioning services to the Cloud applications, and other capabilities.” The report adds that “when it comes to pure-play Cloud Single Sign-On, they are among the leading vendors.”
Noting that “providing a mature approach to security and having a well-defined internal security concept are key factors when evaluating products,” KuppingerCole reports that the “security features of [OneLogin], including strong authentication, password vaulting, and reporting features are well thought-out, as are some features for user convenience such as search capabilities and support for mobile users.” The report also recognizes that “OneLogin added a first EU datacenter, to support specific requirements of European customers, including governmental institutions.”
